Qantara Bridge, located in the city of Beisan, was built during the Mamluk era to transfer water from the Jalud Valley to agricultural lands north of the valley. The bridge is known for its elegant stone architecture and its three arches, one of which was restored during the British Mandate after sustaining damage.
Beneath the bridge flows the Jalud Valley, a seasonal river originating from the slopes of the Nablus mountains and heading east to join the Jordan River south of Beisan. Historically, this river played a vital role in irrigating the region's agricultural lands since ancient times.
